Thinking of how to get your class out this year? Excursion costs rising? Wish to visit multiple locations with a fixed budget?

Have you considered setting your class up with Student Smartriders?  Valid on all bus, trains and ferries, the Student SmartRider will get your class out and about to most locations from Two Rocks to Dawesville and everywhere in between for as little as 70c each way.

Auriol Heary from Ardross Primary School is now entering her third year of getting her class out and about using SmartRiders.

“My students have benefited greatly from incorporating public transport into our excursions.  Students not only save significantly by using Transperth services, students also learn valuable life skills along the way developing independence, higher order thinking, adaptation and etiquette not to mention being prepared for transitioning to high school.”

To get your class out even easier Transperth Education has also developed a lesson with curriculum links.

“One concern for teachers was where to start.” says Transperth Education Officer David McMahon.  “For many teachers, they have not caught Public Transport since they were in school.  Much has changed since then, so it was necessary to remove as many barriers as possible to getting their class on board”.

By providing the Excursion, Excursion- the Smart Rider Version lesson plan and resources, teachers now have all the tools and information they need to get their class on their way to receiving their very own SmartRiders.

To get your class started, access the Excursion, Excursion- the Smart Rider Version lesson today.
