Bstreetsmart

The annual RAC bstreetsmart event was a success once again with over 7,500 students attending.  RAC bstreetsmart has been held in Perth since 2012, educating students on the risks of inattention and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

RAC bstreetsmart has grown in popularity since its introduction with over 50k students now participating since its inception in WA.  As the numbers have grown, so have the logistics of getting over 3,500 participating students to and from the event on our rail network.

Bethany Sawyer from Transperth Information and Events Services co-ordinated the event services and said, “this was a massive undertaking to get 3,500 students to the event, scheduling their exact departure times and the trains they needed to board. We provided specific travel plans for each school, with some travelling on special event services.”

Staff on our network met with the groups to ensure they kept away from the platform edge, ultimately ensuring all students and staff were safely on board before allowing the train to depart.

If you have a group of 10 (or 3,500), get in contact with us and see how we can assist your class getting out and about on our network.  Find out more.
