Rail Safety is a skill for Life

It’s highly likely that, at some stage, most children will come across trains and/or light rail (and their respective tracks) in the city or in regional areas. And, just like learning to cross the road, staying safe on and around rail is a skill for life.

TrackSAFE has partnered with Thomas & Friends to help preschool and early childhood students (3-5yrs) learn how to stay safe on and around rail. TrackSAFE’s free education kit features:

Five lesson plans - each takes just 30min, focussing on one of five key rail safety messages
Curriculum focussed - lesson plans aligned to the early learning framework
Program vocabulary - an educator guide with key terms supporting program delivery
E-Book, recordings and printable stickers -
Stay Safe with Thomas book and Rail Safety Song
At-home guide -  informing parents and carers about rail safety activities.

An overview of the education kit and learning objectives is available
here.

Early childhood centres, preschools and educators can download the materials today, FREE via the
TrackSAFE website.
