Getting Year 6 students high school ready with Transperth

Author: Alex Gerrard

10 Jun 2025

Transperth plays an important role in helping students get to and from school safely and independently, and around 40,000 students use our buses and trains every day.

To support Year 6 students as they prepare for high school in 2025, our Education Team is offering a free live webinar in Term 4 — solely for primary schools.

This interactive session will help students:

  • Understand how the Transperth network works
  • Learn how to get and use a Student SmartRider
  • Plan a journey using the Transperth App
  • Use live tracking to see when their bus or train is coming
  • Recognise safe and unsafe travel behaviours
  • Get to know frontline staff who can help.

We’d love to deliver the session at a time and date that works best for as many primary schools as possible across the network.

👉 If your primary school is interested, please take two minutes to complete this short survey by COB Friday 27 June: https://forms.office.com/r/jvzrdXN79U

Thanks for supporting active and public transport to get to and from school.
