Travel is free across the public transport network on the first Sunday of each month.
Families and students can benefit from this free travel by using their SmartRiders.
Students who don’t have one already can apply for a student SmartRider, which enables them to access not only the free travel on the first Sunday of each month, but also a discounted (70c) student fare for any journey Monday-Friday during the school year and concession fares on the weekend and summer school holidays.
Any primary school student can apply for a SmartRider by completing an application form and getting it authorised by the school administration. The SmartRider card is free using the application form or $5 if ordered online via Monitor WA, if your school is registered.
