Connecting Schools Grant

Author: Alex Gerrard

7 Aug 2024

The Department of Transport Your Move team is excited to announce the 2024 Connecting Schools Grant. This grant round will open at the start of Term 4 for eligible Your Move schools to apply.

With the grants opening a little later this year, schools will have more time for planning and completing activities, posting stories, and submitting surveys to earn points to level up their Your Move accreditation. This will help schools to be able to apply for the highest level of funding when grants open.

Up to $225,000 worth of grant funding is available this year to support a host of projects that will improve active travel infrastructure, access, skills and capacity of students.

There will be four tiers of grant funding available, ranging from $1,000 to $20,000, with funding tiers linked to program accreditation levels, as in past years.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for a grant in Term 4, participating Your Move schools must:

  1. have submitted a Start of Year Hands Up Survey (HUS) in Term 1 2024, or where a school signed up after Term 1, completed their first HUS within two weeks of joining the program.
  2. achieve silver accreditation or higher in 2024, prior to grants closing.
  3. commit to submitting an End of Year Hands Up Survey in Term 4, 2024; and
  4. have fulfilled all acquittal requirements for previous Connecting Schools Grant funded projects.

What do schools need to do right now?

Throughout Term 3, keep running activities, submit your surveys, and post stories to reach your highest possible accreditation level in anticipation of the grants opening in Term 4!

An online grant briefing will held at the end of term to provide more information about the application process.
