The arrival of The Giants set new patronage records as massive crowds converged on the city to see The Diver and Little Girl giants grace the streets of Perth. With more than 1.73 passengers carried over the three day period, it was the biggest public transport event in our history with families and groups making their way in from all over the state.

Transperth spokesman David Hynes said that on the Saturday “more than 692,000 people were carried, making it far the biggest day we have ever experienced and far surpassed any event Transperth has supported in the past”.

Many school groups took advantage of our Group Ticketing arrangement to get to and from the city for the event. The convenient and cost-effective option meant that students were able to travel into the city to witness this once in a lifetime event efficiently and safely.

By using Group Tickets, each student was able to pay only $1.20 return. Accompanying adults paid only $4.40 return which is a huge saving over regular ticketing costs.

Kasia Schmidt from Santa Maria College used Group Tickets to transport 145 of their students and came back with overwhelmingly positive feedback.

“Thank you for all your help in organising the weekend. The girls had a great day out. The staff at the platforms were fantastic and so helpful.  It was a great day had by all”.
